Overview - Hydraulic Lines And Reservoir, Vehicles With 12-Cylinder Engine

1. Pressure Line
   • From the power steering pump to the power steering gear
   • Wire routing. Refer to Fig 7
   • Connection on the power steering pump, vehicles with dynamic steering. Refer to OVERVIEW - POWER STEERING PUMP, VEHICLES WITH DYNAMIC STEERING WITH 12-CYLINDER ENGINE .
   • Connection on the power steering pump, vehicles without dynamic steering. Refer to OVERVIEW - POWER STEERING PUMP, VEHICLES WITHOUT DYNAMIC STEERING WITH 12-CYLINDER ENGINE .
   • Connection on the power steering gear. Refer to OVERVIEW - STEERING GEAR, HYDRAULIC STEERING GEAR WITH TIE RODS .
2. Union Nut
   • 40 Nm
   • Separating point for checking the delivery pressure of the power steering pump. Refer to POWER STEERING PUMP DELIVERY PRESSURE, CHECKING, VEHICLES WITH 12-CYLINDER ENGINE .
3. Return Line
   • From the power steering gear to the hydraulic oil cooler
   • Wire routing. Refer to Fig 6
   • Connection on hydraulic fluid cooler. Refer to Fig 4
   • Connection on the power steering gear. Refer to OVERVIEW - STEERING GEAR, HYDRAULIC STEERING GEAR WITH TIE RODS .

   • From the hydraulic oil cooler to the lower reservoir
   • Connection on hydraulic fluid cooler -item 3-  OVERVIEW - HYDRAULIC LINES AND RESERVOIR, VEHICLES WITH 12-CYLINDER ENGINE
   • Connection on the lower reservoir. Refer to Lower Reservoir to Body 
6. Intake Hose
   • From the reservoir to the power steering pump
   • Wire routing. Refer to Fig 5
   • Connection on the lower reservoir. Refer to Fig 3
7. Upper Reservoir
   • Note installed position. Refer to Fig 2
8. Lower Reservoir
   • Note installed position. Refer to Fig 3
9. Hydraulic Oil Cooler
   • Removing and installing. Refer to HYDRAULIC FLUID COOLER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
   • Connections on the hydraulic fluid cooler. Refer to Fig 4
10. Power Steering Pump
    • With Power Steering Pump -V119- (vehicles with dynamic steering)
    • There are different versions. Refer to the Parts information.
    • Delivery pressure, checking. Refer to POWER STEERING PUMP DELIVERY PRESSURE, CHECKING, VEHICLES WITH 12-CYLINDER ENGINE .
    • Removing and installing:
      • Vehicles without dynamic steering. Refer to POWER STEERING PUMP, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, VEHICLES WITHOUT DYNAMIC STEERING WITH 12-CYLINDER ENGINE .
      • Vehicles with dynamic steering. Refer to POWER STEERING PUMP, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, VEHICLES WITH DYNAMIC STEERING WITH 12-CYLINDER ENGINE .

Upper Reservoir to Body

-- Install the reservoir -2- into the rubber grommet -3-.

-- Attach the reservoir under the coolant reservoir.

Bolt tightening specification -1- : 9 Nm

Bolt tightening specification -5- : 4.5 Nm

Lower Reservoir to Body

1. Hose to the upper reservoir
2. Intake hose to the power steering pump. Refer to Fig 5
3. Return hose to the hydraulic fluid cooler
4. Lower reservoir

Bolt tightening specification -5- : 9 Nm

Return Lines to the Hydraulic Fluid Cooler

-- Attach the return lines -1 and 2- to the lock carrier -4- using the clip -arrow-.

Return line to the power steering gear. Refer to Fig 6

Intake Hose from the Lower Reservoir to the Power Steering Pump

1. Lower reservoir
2. Intake hose
3. Power steering pump

Intake hose connection on the power steering pump (vehicles without dynamic steering). Refer to Loosen the clamp -2- and remove the suction hose -1- from the power steering pump 

Return Line from the Power Steering Gear to the Hydraulic Oil Cooler

-- Attach the subframe -1- to the subframe -4- using the bolts -2 and 3-.

Bolt tightening specification -2 and 3- : 9 Nm

Connection on the power steering gear. Refer to OVERVIEW - STEERING GEAR, HYDRAULIC STEERING GEAR WITH TIE RODS .

Return line to the hydraulic fluid cooler. Refer to Fig 4

Bolt tightening specification -2 and 5- : 9 Nm

Bolt tightening specification -3 and 6- : 20 Nm

Nut tightening specification -4- : 9 Nm
