Charge Air Cooler Housing, Removing And Installing: Removing
Follow all the guidelines for clean working conditions. Refer to GUIDELINES FOR CLEAN WORKING CONDITIONS .
-- Remove the front coolant pipe. Refer to COOLANT PIPES, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Remove the right and when equipped left air filter housing. Refer to AIR FILTER HOUSING, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Remove the Throttle Valve Control Module -J338- . Refer to THROTTLE VALVE CONTROL MODULE -J338-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Disconnect the vacuum hose -1- .
-- Remove the bolts -3- and then remove the vacuum reservoir -2- .
-- Loosen the clamp -2- and remove the coolant hose.
Ignore -1- .
-- Open the clip -1- and disconnect the upper right coolant hose from the radiator.
Ignore -2- .
-- Remove the bolts -arrows- and then remove the air duct -1- .
-- Press the release button -3- and loosen the hose clamps -arrows- to remove the secondary air injection hose.
-- Disconnect the connector -2- .
-- Free up the secondary air injection hose -1- and press it downward.
-- Loosen the hose clamps -1- and free up the coolant hoses -arrow- and then remove the coolant hoses.
-- Disconnect the connector -3- .
-- Free up the vacuum hoses -arrow- .
-- Loosen the hose clamps -4 and 5- and remove the air duct hoses.
-- Remove the bolts -1, 2 and 6- and pull the charge air cooler housing slightly forward, then remove it upward.
There is a risk of contamination from leaking engine oil.
- When removing the charge air cooler housing, up to 0.5 liters of engine oil can drain from the oil separator into the area between the cylinder heads. Extract engine oil that has leaked and clean the engine.
