Turbocharger, Removing And Installing: Installing
Install in reverse order of removal and note the following:
Replace the seals and O-rings.
Replace the actuator rod for the turbocharger -23- OVERVIEW - TURBOCHARGER => List Item:Actuator Rod.
Fill the turbocharger at the oil supply line connections with engine oil.
Secure all hose connections with hose clamps that match the ones used in series production. Refer to the PartsInformation.
To ensure the turbocharger is supplied with enough oil, let the engine run at idle for approximately one minute after installing the turbocharger. Do not increase the engine speed.
-- Replace the oil screen -arrow- . Refer to COVER IN INNER-V, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Oil screen component location -arrow- . Refer to OVERVIEW - MECHANICAL CONTROL VALVE, CHECK VALVE, COVER IN INNER V .
-- Coat the threaded pin threads for the turbocharger with hot bolt paste.
-- Install the seal.
-- Install the turbocharger.
-- Coat the threads on the bolt for the turbocharger support with hot bolt paste.
-- Attach the turbocharger support and tighten the bolts to the pre-tightening specification. Refer to Figure.
- The turbocharger supports must not have any play at either of the turbochargers.
-- Tighten the nuts for the turbocharger to the pre-tightening and final tightening specifications. Refer to Figure.
-- Tighten the turbocharger support to the final tightening specification. Refer to Figure.
-- Install the wires. Refer to Component Location Overview - Relay Panels, Fuse Panels and E-Boxes and Wiring Diagram .
-- Install the air ducts with screw-type clamps. Refer to OVERVIEW - CHARGE AIR HOSE CONNECTIONS .
-- Install the plenum chamber bulkhead. Refer to BULKHEAD .
-- Install the charge air cooler housing. Refer to CHARGE AIR COOLER HOUSING, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
