    • The transmission fluid (MTF) must be changed at specific change intervals (at specific kilometers driven) if the vehicle is equipped with Transmission Fluid Temperature Sensor 2 -G754- -1-. Refer to MAINTENANCE INTERVALS (SEDAN) .
    • The transmission fluid temperature is also monitored by Transmission Fluid Temperature Sensor 2 -G754- on these vehicles. An internal counter in the Transmission Control Module -J217- starts to count when an increased transmission fluid temperature over a specific time period. The transmission control module stores a Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) memory entry when the temperature is exceeded a specific number of times. The transmission fluid (MTF) must then be changed.

In both cases, after changing the transmission fluid, the internal counter in the Transmission Control Module -J217- must be reset in the "Guided Function  ".

    NOTE:

The connector on the Transmission Fluid Temperature Sensor 2 -G754- can be disconnected only when the ignition is turned off. The transmission will switch to emergency mode if the ignition is on. The counter for the increased temperature will count up and a fault will be stored in the Transmission Control Module -J217- after 10 minutes.

    Work sequence:

-- Select Guided Functions  , 02 - Transmission Electronics, Functions  and the "Guided Function  ", 02 - Reset Transmission Fluid Temperature Sensor   .
