Clutch Master Cylinder: Installing

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.

Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:

NOTE:

If damaged, replace the O-ring.

-- Connect the connector -5-.

-- Install the clutch master cylinder -1-.

-- Install the clutch master cylinder into the footwell in the direction of -arrow A-. When doing this, lock it in direction of -arrow B- using the 3355.

CAUTION:

"Rattling noises" when using the clutch.

"Rattling noises" can occur when pressing the clutch if there is not enough grease in the bearing area on the clutch pedal or especially on the lug for the master cylinder pressure rod.
Lubricate the various bearing and contact surfaces with grease G 000 450 02.

-- Lubricate the mounting pins -4- and the bearing lug for the master cylinder pressure rod.

-- Install the mounting pins -4-. The shoulder on the pin -arrow B- must be guided into the groove in the clutch pedal.

NOTE:

Ignore -1, 2 and 3- and -arrow A-.

-- Over-center spring, installing OVER-CENTER SPRING => Installing the Over-Center Spring .

-- Push the clip -3- all the way in.

-- Push hose/line assembly -4- into clutch master cylinder until the line audibly engages.

-- Pull on the hose/line assembly to make sure it is secure.

-- Install the return hose -2-.

After removing the 3094, the supply hose -2- is formed back into its original shape.

-- Bleed the clutch system. Refer to CLUTCH SYSTEM, BLEEDING .

-- Install the engine compartment E-box. Refer to COMPONENT LOCATION OVERVIEW - RELAY PANELS, FUSE PANELS AND E-BOXES .

-- Observe measurements after connecting the battery. Refer to BATTERY, DISCONNECTING AND CONNECTING .
