1. Cover
   • Carefully remove the cover using a drift, replace if damaged.
   • The adhesive surfaces on the cover/inner CV joint must be free of grease when installing.
   • Coat the sealing surface with sealant before installing the CV joint.
2. Securing Ring
   • Remove and install with commercially-available circlip pliers.
   • Always Replace If Removed.
3. Inner CV Joint
   • Replace only as complete unit.
   • Checking, Refer To INNER CV JOINT, CHECKING .
   • Grease quantity and type, Refer To DRIVE AXLE OVERVIEW, WITH 100 MM DIAMETER OUTER CV JOINT AND 108 MM DIAMETER INNER CV JOINT .
   • the adhesive surfaces must be free of oil and grease.
   • When installing joint on axle shaft, splines on axle shaft must be lightly coated with grease used in joint.
4. Inner CV Boot with a Cap
   • Without ventilation bore.
   • Carefully remove the cap using a drift, replace if damaged.
   • Check the inner CV joint if there is damage. Refer To INNER CV JOINT, CHECKING .
   • The sealing surfaces on the cap/inner CV joint must be free of grease when installing.
5. Backing Plate
6. Bolt
   • M10
   • 70 Nm
   • Always Replace If Removed.
7. Clamp
   • Always Replace If Removed.
   • Tensioning, Refer To INNER CV JOINT, 100 MM DIAMETER OR 108 MM DIAMETER WITH CAP .
8. Drive Axle
   • Removing and installing, Refer To DRIVE AXLE .
9. Clamp
   • Always Replace If Removed.
   • Tensioning, Refer To Installing .
10. Outer CV Boot
    • Without ventilation bore.
    • Check for tears and chafing; replace if necessary.
    • The protective boot/metal cap sealing surfaces must be free of grease when installing.
    • The protective boot/drive axle sealing surfaces must be free of grease when installing.
11. Clamp
    • Always Replace If Removed.
    • Tensioning, Refer To Installing .
12. Securing Ring
    • Always Replace If Removed.
    • Allocation Parts Information..
    • Insert before mounting in ring groove (not visible with joint installed).
    • Before installing CV joint, align sealing ring in center with opening facing upward.
13. Outer CV Joint
    • Replace only as complete unit.
    • Driving off, Refer To OUTER CV JOINT, 88 MM DIAMETER OR 100 MM DIAMETER .
    • Installing: Drive onto shaft using plastic hammer until compressed circlip seats.
    • Circlip must lie in joint chamfer when guiding in, guide with pliers if necessary.
    • Grease quantity and type, Refer To DRIVE AXLE OVERVIEW, WITH 100 MM DIAMETER OUTER CV JOINT AND 108 MM DIAMETER INNER CV JOINT .
    • The protective boot/CV joint sealing surfaces must be free of grease when installing.
    • When installing joint on axle shaft, splines on axle shaft must be lightly coated with grease used in joint.
14. Bolt
    • 200 Nm + 180° turn
    • Always Replace If Removed.
    • Follow the assembly information when loosening and tightening. Refer To THREADED CONNECTION BETWEEN DRIVE AXLE AND WHEEL HUB, LOOSENING AND TIGHTENING .
