Sunroof Insert, Cleaning And Lubricating
Hold A Cloth Under The Respective Places To Protect The Vehicle Interior From Getting Dirty.
Special Tools And Workshop Equipment Required
- Brush
- Fine-pored sponge
- Shop vacuum i.e. Wet and dry vacuum cleaner
- Lubricant G 060 751 A2
- Special grease Krytox G 052 141 A2
- Cleaning solution D 009 401 04
Paint Brush (Approximately 15 Mm Wide) (Bend Approximately 40°).
Use a fine-pore sponge to apply the Krytox grease, for example, a home sponge without a scrubbing pad attached to it.
Clean And Lubricate The Slotted Guide Rail Guide
-- Move the glass panel to the raised position.
-- Remove the grease and remaining dirt on the slotted guide rail guide with a lint-free cloth. (If necessary, remove sand and fine pollen from the slotted guide rails with a shop vacuum).
-- Apply the lubricant G 060 751 A2 with a commercially available paint brush in the marked positions -arrow- on the slotted guide rail guide.
-- Remove the excess lubricant from the slotted guide rail guide with a lint-free cloth.
-- Repeat the process for the opening on the opposite side of the vehicle.
Clean and coat the glass panel seal
Glass panel in raised position.
-- Remove grease and remaining dirt from the glass panel seal -arrows- with cleaning solution and a lint-free cloth -1-.
-- Apply special grease Krytox G 052 141 A2 thinly to the glass panel seal -arrows- using a fine-pored sponge -2-.
- After applying, make sure that there is no visible white grease film remaining.
-- Wipe off any excess grease on the seal with the lint-free cloth.
-- Open and close the sunroof completely and check for any remaining grease one more time.

Clean And Lubricate The Wind Deflector Seal
-- Move the glass sunroof panel back until the wind deflector is completely in position.
-- Remove grease and remaining dirt from the wind deflector seal -arrow- with cleaning solution and a lint-free cloth.
It Is Not Necessary To Remove The Wind Deflector.
-- Apply the special Krytox grease G 052 141 A2 thinly on the rubber lip on the wind deflector -arrow- using a fine-pored sponge.
- After applying, make sure that there is no visible white grease film remaining.
-- Wipe off any excess grease on the rubber lip with the lint-free cloth.
Clean And Coat The Glass Panel Seal
-- Leave the glass sunroof panel in the position shown with the wind deflector completely in position.
-- Remove grease and remaining dirt from the glass panel seal -arrows- with cleaning solution and a lint-free cloth -1-.
-- Apply special grease Krytox G 052 141 A2 thinly to the glass panel seal -arrows- using a fine-pored sponge -2-.
- After applying, make sure that there is no visible white grease film remaining.
-- Wipe off any excess grease on the seal with the lint-free cloth.
Clean And Coat The Guide Rail
-- Open the glass sunroof panel entirely.
-- Remove the grease and remaining dirt on the guide rail with a lint-free cloth.
-- If necessary, remove sand and fine pollen from the guide rails with a shop vacuum.
-- Apply G 060 751 A2 grease on the inside of the guide rail -arrow- with a paint brush.
-- Apply G 060 751 A2 grease on the outside of the guide rail -arrow- with a paint brush.
-- Apply G 060 751 A2 grease on the side of the guide rails for the sliding headliner -arrow- with a paint brush.
-- Remove the excess lubricant from the guide rails with a lint-free cloth.
-- Repeat the process for the opening on the opposite side of the vehicle.
-- Open and close the sunroof completely and check for any remaining grease one more time.
