Battery, Checking Cables For Secure Seating
If The Battery Clamp Is Not Seated Securely On The Positive Pole, Disconnect Battery Ground Cable From On Battery Negative Pole First, To Prevent Possible Accidents.
There Are Different Equipment Levels.
COUPE
-- Turn off the ignition and remove the key.
-- Lift the luggage compartment floor covering by the handle and attach the handle to the rear lid seal.
-- Remove the turn handle -1- and the cover -2-.
-- Make sure the battery terminals -arrows- are tight. Tighten the nuts -1- and -2- again, if necessary.
-- Remove the mount for the vehicle tools.
-- Make sure the battery -1- is secure. Tighten the bolt -6- again to the tightening specification.
Ignore -2 through 5- and -7-.
SPORTBACK
-- Turn off the ignition and remove the key.
-- Remove the luggage compartment floor covering.
-- Remove the nut -1- and the vehicle tools mount -2-.
-- Make sure the battery terminals -arrows- are tight. Tighten the nuts -1- and -2- again, if necessary.
-- Remove the mount for the vehicle tools.
-- If equipped: remove the subwoofer. Refer to appropriate service information. .
-- Make sure the battery -1- is secure. Tighten the bolt -6- again to the tightening specification.
Ignore -2 through 5- and -7-.
ALL VEHICLES
-- Make sure the bracket for the emergency wheel or vehicle tools -2- is secure. Tighten the bolts -arrows A- again, if necessary.
Ignore -1- and -3-.
