Seat Pan Cover And Cushion, Removing And Installing, Seat Pan Without Seat Depth Adjuster: Removing

  • Follow All Safety Precautions When Working With Pyrotechnic Components. Refer To SAFETY PRECAUTIONS .
  • Before Handling Pyrotechnic Components (For Example, Disconnecting The Connector), The Person Handling It Must "Discharge Static Electricity". This Can Be Done By Touching The Door Striker, For Example.

-- Remove The Front Seat: 

-- Attach the front seat to the Engine/Transmission Holder - Seat Repair Fixture:VAS6136  . Refer To FRONT SEAT, MOUNTING ON FIXTURE FOR SEAT REPAIR .

-- Remove The Front Backrest: 

-- Remove The Sill Side Trim Retaining Bracket. 

-- Versions with LATCH (passenger seat only): Remove the LATCH. Refer To FRONT CHILD SEAT ANCHOR, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the storage compartment. Refer To FRONT CENTER CONSOLE STORAGE COMPARTMENT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Disconnect the electrical connectors and free them up.

-- Disengage the front and side areas -A and B- of the cover retaining channel -3-.

-- When disengaging the cover, be careful of the exposed retaining hooks -1- on the edge -2-.

-- Disengage the retaining channel or hooks on the tabs -1- at both sides of the seat pan -3-.

-- Disengage the cover retaining channel -6- in the area -A-.

-- When disengaging the cover, be careful of the exposed hooks -4- on the edge -5-.

-- Remove the cover with padding from the seat pan.
