Backrest Cover And Cushion, Removing And Installing, Standard/Sport Seat: Removing

WARNING:

Follow all Safety Precautions when working with pyrotechnic components. Refer To SAFETY PRECAUTIONS .
Before handling pyrotechnic components (for example, disconnecting the connector), the person handling it must "discharge static electricity". This can be done by touching the door striker, for example.

-- Remove The Front Seat:

Standard Seat And Sport Seat (Manual). Refer To FRONT SEAT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, MANUAL .
Standard Seat, Sport Seat (Power) And Comfort Seat. Refer To FRONT SEAT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, POWER .

-- Attach The Front Seat To The Engine/Transmission Holder - Seat Repair Fixture:VAS6136 . Refer To FRONT SEAT, MOUNTING ON FIXTURE FOR SEAT REPAIR .

Vehicles Equipped With A Mount For A DVD Player:

DVD Player Removed.

-- Unclip The Trim -2- For The Connector -arrow-.

WARNING:

Danger Of Eye Injury.

Wear Protective Eyewear.

-- Drill Out The Guides -1 And 3- For The DVD Player Using A 12 mm Diameter Drill.

CAUTION:

Danger Of Destroying The Backrest Cover And Cushion.

The Guides Are Held In The Backrest Frame By The Retaining Tabs -arrows-.
When Removing, Drill Out Only Up To Dimension -A- = 35 mm.

Continuation For All Vehicles:

-- Remove the backrest cover. Refer To BACKREST COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, TWO PIECE .

-- Remove The Head Restraints:

Refer To HEADREST, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, HEADREST WITH SLIDING LOCKING MECHANISM .
Refer To HEADREST, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, POWER HEADREST .

-- Remove The Front Backrest:

Standard Seat And Sport Seat (Manual). Refer To FRONT BACKREST, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, STANDARD SEAT/SPORT SEAT/SUPER SPORT SEAT .
Standard Seat, Sport Seat (Power) And Comfort Seat. Refer To FRONT BACKREST, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, POWER STANDARD SEAT .

-- Remove The Entry Assistance Trim:

Standard Seat And Sport Seat (Manual). Refer To ENTRY ASSISTANCE TRIM, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, MANUAL STANDARD SEAT .
Standard Seat, Sport Seat (Power) And Comfort Seat. Refer To ENTRY ASSISTANCE TRIM, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, POWER STANDARD SEAT .

-- Disengage the lower clamping profile -5 and 6- on the backrest frame trim -4-.

-- Disengage the upper clamping profile -3- for the cover -1- on the backrest frame -2-.

-- Disconnect the electrical connectors and free them up.

-- Disengage the side retaining strips -3- at the backrest frame trim catches -2-.

-- Remove the padding on the backrest until it is possible to remove the side airbag.

-- Remove side airbag. Refer To FRONT SIDE AIRBAG WITH IGNITER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

Vehicles Equipped With A Manual Adjustable Seat:

-- Disengage the side airbag from the backrest frame using the hook and out of the pocket sewn in the cover and install it again in the backrest frame.

Versions With Power Seats:

-- Disengage the side airbag from the backrest frame using the hook and leave it in the pocket sewn in the cover.

Equipment Versions With Lumbar Support (Not Comfort Seat):

-- Separate the padding from the Velcro fastener -3- on the lumbar support -2- otherwise the lumbar support will be damaged when removing the hooks -arrows-.

Continuation For All Vehicles:

-- Remove the cover and cushion from the backrest frame while guiding the side airbag wiring harness.
