Torsion Bar, Removing And Installing: Removing

WARNING:

Follow all Safety Precautions when working with pyrotechnic components. Refer To SAFETY PRECAUTIONS .
Before handling pyrotechnic components (for example, disconnecting the connector), the person handling it must "discharge static electricity". This can be done by touching the door striker, for example.

CAUTION:

Move The Front Seat As Far Up As Possible. This Reduces The Spring Force When Removing And Installing The Torsion Bar And The Risk Of Damaging The Threaded Connections Between The Upper And Lower Seat Frames.

-- Remove The Front Seat:

Standard seat and Sport seat (manual). Refer To FRONT SEAT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, MANUAL .
Standard seat, Sport seat (power) and Comfort seat. Refer To FRONT SEAT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, POWER .
For the super sport seat. Refer To FRONT SEAT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, POWER .
Bucket seat. Refer To FRONT SEAT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, BUCKET SEAT .

-- Attach the front seat to the Engine/Transmission Holder - Seat Repair Fixture:VAS6136 . Refer To FRONT SEAT, MOUNTING ON FIXTURE FOR SEAT REPAIR .

-- Remove Tunnel Side Trim Panel:

Standard seat and Sport seat (manual). Refer To SILL SIDE TRIM, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, MANUAL STANDARD/SPORT SEATS .
Standard seat and sport seat (power), comfort seat and super sport seat. Refer To SILL-SIDE TRIM, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, POWER STANDARD SEAT, WITH OR WITHOUT MEMORY FUNCTION .
Bucket seat. Refer To SILL SIDE TRIM, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, BUCKET SEAT .

-- Remove the tunnel-side trim. Refer To TUNNEL-SIDE TRIM, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, STANDARD SEAT, SPORT SEAT, SUPER SPORT SEAT , for bucket seat. Refer To TUNNEL-SIDE TRIM, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, BUCKET SEAT .

-- Remove The Front Backrest:

Standard seat and Sport seat (manual). Refer To FRONT BACKREST, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, STANDARD SEAT/SPORT SEAT/SUPER SPORT SEAT .
Standard seat, Sport seat (power) and Comfort seat. Refer To FRONT BACKREST, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, POWER STANDARD SEAT .
For the super sport seat. Refer To FRONT BACKREST, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, STANDARD SEAT/SPORT SEAT/SUPER SPORT SEAT .
Bucket seat. Refer To FRONT BACKREST, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, BUCKET SEAT .

WARNING:

The Torsion Bar Exhibits Considerable Spring Force. Always Follow The Points Below To Avoid Accidents:

Always remove and install the torsion bar in the sequence described and only using the tools specified.
Never use pliers and other levers.
Do not stand directly in front of the torsion bar when removing and installing it. Stand off to the side.

-- Secure the Driveshaft Handle: 3145 with the Engine Sling - Engine Bracket:2024A/1 and shackle -2- on the torsion bar -3- as shown.

1 - M10 X 30 Bolt With Nut

4 - Seat Pan

-- Carefully Rotate The Torsion Bar -1- Until It Disengages From The Oblong Hole -Arrow- On The Seat Pan.
