Ground Cable With Battery Monitoring Control Module -J367-, Removing And Installing: Removing

-- Turn Off The Ignition And Remove The Key.

CAUTION:

TDI (SCR) Vehicles

After The Ignition Is Switched Off, The Reducing Agent Goes From The Metering Line To The Reducing Agent Injector -N474- And Back Into The Reducing Agent Active Chamber.
Wait Until All The Reducing Agent Has Been Returned Before Working In This Area. This Could Take Up To 10 Minutes After Switching Off The Ignition.
Only After This Is Complete Can The Battery Be Disconnected. Again, This Could Take Up To 10 Minutes After Switching Off The Ignition.

-- Lift The Luggage Compartment Floor And Engage It On The Body.

-- Remove The Nut -1- And Remove The Cover -2- For The Vehicle Tool Kit.

-- Remove The Tool Kit Mount.

SPORTBACK:

-- Remove The Luggage Compartment Floor Panel Cover.

-- Remove The Nut -1- And The Tool Kit Mount -2-.

-- If Equipped, Remove The Subwoofer. Refer To SUBWOOFER -R211-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

Negative Terminal Cover - Version I:

-- Pull the cover -2- over the negative terminal upward slightly -arrow-.

-- Loosen the nut several turns and remove the battery ground cable terminal clamp -1- from the battery terminal.

-- Disconnect the connector -3-.

-- Remove the nut -6- and remove the ground cable -5- with the Battery Monitoring Control Module -J367- -item 4-.

Negative Terminal Cover - Version II:

-- Open the cover -2- over the battery negative terminal.

-- Loosen the nut several turns and remove the battery ground cable terminal clamp -1- from the battery terminal.

-- Disconnect the connector -3-.

-- Remove the nut -6- and remove the ground cable -5- with the Battery Monitoring Control Module -J367- -item 4-.
