Front Passenger Airbag Deactivation Key Switch, Removing And Installing: Removing

WARNING:

Follow all Safety Precautions when working with pyrotechnic components. Refer to SAFETY PRECAUTIONS .

-- Turn on the ignition.

-- Disconnect the battery ground cable with the ignition turned on. Refer to BATTERY .

-- Remove the glove compartment. Refer to GLOVE COMPARTMENT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, VEHICLES WITHOUT KNEE AIRBAGS .

WARNING:

Before handling pyrotechnic components (for example, disconnecting the connector), the person handling it must "discharge static electricity". This can be done by touching the door striker, for example.

-- Disconnect the connector -2-.

-- To do this, press the catch -1- in the direction of the -arrow- until the connector disengages.

-- Disconnect the connector -2-.

-- Release the retaining springs -1- and -3- and press the front passenger airbag key switch -4- out of the key switch housing.
