Airbag Connector, Replacing, Bolted Airbag Version: Removing

WARNING:

Follow all Safety Precautions when working with pyrotechnic components. Refer to SAFETY PRECAUTIONS .

-- Remove driver airbag. Refer to AIRBAG UNIT WITH IGNITER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

WARNING:

Before handling pyrotechnic components (for example, disconnecting the connector), the person handling it must "discharge static electricity". This can be done by touching the door striker, for example.

-- Disconnect connectors -1 and 5-.

-- Using a small screwdriver, release the connector locks -4- and remove the connectors -2- for the Driver Airbag Igniter -N95- and -3- for Driver Airbag Igniter 2 -N250-.

-- Disengage the electrical wire at the brackets -6- and free it up.

WARNING:

Follow all pyrotechnic components safety precautions. Refer to PYROTECHNIC COMPONENTS SAFETY PRECAUTIONS .

-- Remove the driver side airbag. Refer to AIRBAG UNIT WITH IGNITER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

Vehicles with a 3-Spoke Steering Wheel:

WARNING:

-- Disconnect the connectors -1, 2, 4 and 6- by releasing the tabs.

-- Disconnect the connector -3- from the driver airbag igniter 2 -N250- and -5- for the driver airbag igniter -N95-.

-- Release the connector lock -2- with a small screwdriver -arrow- and disconnect the connector -1-.

-- Disengage and remove the wiring harness from the brackets.

Versions with 4-Spoke Steering Wheel:

WARNING:

-- Disconnect the connectors -1, 2, 4 and 6- by releasing the tabs.

-- Disconnect the connector -3- from the Driver Airbag Igniter 2 -N250- and -5- for the driver airbag igniter -N95-.

-- Release the connector lock -2- with a small screwdriver in direction of -arrow- and disconnect the connector -1-.
