Front Passenger Occupant Detection Sensor -G128-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING: Installing
- Follow all Safety Precautions when working with pyrotechnic components. Refer to SAFETY PRECAUTIONS .
- Before handling pyrotechnic components (for example, connecting the connector), the person handling it must "discharge static electricity". This can be done by touching the door striker, for example.
Standard Seat and Sport Seat (Manual or Power):
-- Position circuit board -4- for seat occupant sensor -2- in opening -3- in seat cushion -1-.
-- Align the passenger occupant detection sensor -2- on the seat padding -1- according to the markings -arrows-.
The new passenger occupant detection sensor should be installed in the same location on the seat padding as the old sensor.
-- Remove the protective film and bond the passenger occupant detection system sensor -2- firmly to the padding -1-.
Comfort Seat:
-- Position the circuit board -3- for the passenger occupant detection system sensor -4- in the opening -1- in the seat cushion -1-
The new passenger occupant detection sensor should be installed in the same location on the seat padding as the old sensor.
-- Align the passenger occupant detection system sensor on the seat padding according to the markings -a-.
- Dimension -a- = 20 mm.
-- Remove the protective film and bond the passenger occupant detection sensor firmly to the padding.
Super Sport Seat:
-- Position circuit board -4- for seat occupant sensor -2- in opening -3- in seat cushion -1-.
-- Align the passenger occupant detection sensor -2- on the seat padding -1- according to the markings -arrows-.
The new passenger occupant detection sensor should be installed in the same location on the seat padding as the old sensor.
-- Remove the protective film and bond the passenger occupant detection system sensor -2- firmly to the padding -1-.
Procedure for All Seat Versions:
Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:
Make sure the passenger occupant detection system is not covered by the seat heater element heating coils.
Make sure the connectors are installed correctly and are secure.
Ignition must be on when connecting battery. If pyrotechnic components (for example, airbag, belt tensioner) are not repaired correctly, they may deploy unintentionally after connecting battery. There must not be anyone inside the vehicle when connecting the battery.
-- Connect the battery ground cable with the ignition turned on. Refer to BATTERY .
If the Airbag Indicator Lamp -K75- signals a fault after installing, check the DTC memory, erase it and check it again. Refer to Vehicle Diagnostic Tester.
