Brake System Vacuum Pump -V192-, RS 5: Removing
The electric vacuum pump is located inside the engine compartment on the left side.
-- Raise the vehicle.
-- Remove left front wheel.
-- Remove the left front wheel housing liner, refer to OVERVIEW - FRONT WHEEL HOUSING LINER .
View brake system vacuum pump -- from underneath after removing the wheel housing liner.
-- Disconnect the connector -3- from the brake system vacuum pump --.
-- Remove the bolt from the bracket -2- for the brake system vacuum pump --.
-- Remove the secondary pump hose from the bracket for the brake system vacuum pump --.
-- Lower the vehicle.
View brake system vacuum pump -- inside the engine compartment, in the front on the left side.
-- Remove the secondary pump hose from the bracket -4-.
-- Move the secondary pump hose to the side.
-- Remove the nut from the coolant pipe bracket.
-- Move the coolant pipe to the side.
-- Remove the two bolts from the bracket for the brake system vacuum pump -- -1 and 5-.
-- Remove the vacuum hose for the brake system vacuum pump -- from the brackets inside the engine compartment.
Be careful not to bend or damage the vacuum hose. Replace the vacuum hose if damaged.
-- Open the clamp on the vacuum hose with pliers.
-- Pull the vacuum hose off the brake system vacuum pump --.
-- Remove the brake system vacuum pump -- and bracket from the engine compartment.
-- Remove the brake system vacuum pump -- from the bracket.
-- Press the right and lift clips -arrow- out of the bracket by hand.
-- Remove the electrical vacuum pump upward while holding the rubber buffer securely.
