Brake System Vacuum Pump -V192-, RS 5: Installing
Install in reverse order of removal.
Use new clamps when installing the vacuum line.
-- Insert the brake system vacuum pump -- into the bracket.
-- Push the right and link clips -arrow- into the mount and secure the brake vacuum pump --.
-- Install the bracket, with the brake system vacuum pump -V192- already in it, into the engine compartment.
Make sure it is installed in the correct position.
-- Tighten the bracket for the brake system vacuum pump -V192- to the body to 20 Nm with two bolts -1 and 5-.
-- Slide the new clamp over the vacuum hose.
-- Attach the vacuum hose to the brake system vacuum pump --.
Be careful not to bend or damage the vacuum hose. Replace the vacuum hose if damaged.
Moisten the hose and the connection with water to make it easier to install.
Make sure the check valve is installed correctly. The arrow on the valve points to the pump.
-- Close the hose clamp with pliers.
-- Place the coolant pipe and bracket on the pin.
-- Tighten the nut on the coolant pipe to 20 Nm.
-- Tighten the secondary pump hose to the bracket -4-.
-- Clip the vacuum hose in all brackets inside the engine compartment.
-- Raise the vehicle.
-- Tighten the bracket -1- for the brake system vacuum pump -- to the body to 20 Nm with bolt -2-.
-- Connect the connector -3- to the brake system vacuum pump -- -4-.
-- Clip the secondary pump hose into the bracket on the brake system vacuum pump --.
-- Install the wheel housing liner, refer to OVERVIEW - FRONT WHEEL HOUSING LINER .
-- Mount the left front wheel, refer to WHEEL BOLT TIGHTENING SPECIFICATIONS .
-- Lower the vehicle.
