Front Brake Shield: Removing

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.

-- Raise the vehicle.

-- Remove the wheels.

-- Push the brake pads back slightly.

NOTE:

The brake pistons with the old pads still installed can pressed back to allow all brake pistons in the brake caliper to be pressed back evenly using pliers.

Be careful not to damage the coating on the brake caliper and on the brake pads.

Before pushing back the piston, siphon some of the brake fluid out of the brake fluid reservoir. Otherwise fluid will overflow and cause damage if the reservoir was topped off during repair work.

-- Remove the brake caliper, refer to BRAKE CALIPER .

WARNING:

Handle the brake rotor with care. Replace a damaged brake rotor.

Do not hit the brake rotor with force to remove it from the wheel hub.

-- Remove the brake rotor, refer to CERAMIC BRAKE ROTOR .

-- Remove the bolts -9- from the brake shield.
