Vacuum Pump, Removing And Installing, 4.0L TFSI Engine: Removing

-- Remove the cylinder bank 2 catalytic converter (left). Refer to CATALYTIC CONVERTER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the nut -3-.

-- Remove bracket -5- from bolt -4- and push slightly aside.

-- Remove the bolt -4- and the banjo bolt -2-.

-- Remove oil line -1-.

CAUTION:

There is a Risk of damaging the vacuum hoses.

  • Carefully remove the vacuum hoses. A damaged vacuum hose must be replaced.

-- Loosen the hose clamp -1- and remove the vacuum hose.

-- Remove the bolts -arrows-, pull the vacuum pump from the cylinder head and remove.
