Crankshaft Seal, Replacing, Transmission Side
Special Tools And Workshop Equipment Required
- Crankshaft Seal Installer Kit :T10122A
- Seal Installer - Crankshaft - Guide Piece :T10122/6
- Puller - Crankshaft/Power Steering Seal :T20143/2
- The Transmission Is Removed. Refer to TRANSMISSION, REMOVING [7-SPEED DUAL CLUTCH TRANSMISSION 0CK] and/or TRANSMISSION, DISASSEMBLING AND ASSEMBLING [7-SPEED DUAL CLUTCH TRANSMISSION 0CJ, 0CL, 0CK, 0DN, 0DP] .
-- Remove the drive plate. Refer to DRIVE PLATE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Pry out the shaft seal using the :T20143/2 .
-- Clean the running and sealing surface.
-- Attach the :T10122/1 to the :T10122/6 and push the shaft seal -A- on the guide piece.
-- Remove the :T10122/1 .
-- Position the :T10122/6 on the crankshaft.
-- Attach The Guide Piece Through The Mounting Points -A- With The Bolts -Arrows- On The Crankshaft.
There Is A Risk Of Leaks Due To Incorrect Assembly.
- To prevent the shaft seal sealing lip from rolling onto itself, insert the shaft seal by hand on the crankshaft.
-- Push the shaft seal by hand using the :T10122/6 on the crankshaft.
-- Press shaft seal in evenly all around with :T10122/5 .
-- Remove the :T10122/6 .
-- Check the shaft seal as well as the sealing lip for correct seating. If the sealing lip are partially turned repeat the procedure with a new shaft seal.
-- Install the drive plate. Refer to DRIVE PLATE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
