Turbocharger, Removing And Installing: Installing
Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:
Replace the seals and O-rings.
Replace the actuator rod for the turbocharger -Item 22- OVERVIEW - TURBOCHARGER.
Fill the turbocharger at the oil supply line connections with engine oil.
Secure all hose connections with hose clamps of the same type as those equipped by the factory. Refer to the Parts information.
To ensure the turbocharger is supplied with enough oil, let the engine run at idle for approximately 1 minute after installing the turbocharger. Do not increase the engine speed during this time.
-- Replace the oil screen -arrow-. Refer to COVER IN THE INNER-V, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Oil screen component location -arrow-. Refer to OVERVIEW - MECHANICAL CONTROL VALVE, CHECK VALVE, COVER IN INNER V .
-- Coat the threaded pin threads for the turbocharger with hot bolt paste.
-- Install the seal.
-- Install the turbocharger.
-- Coat the threads on the bolt for the turbocharger support with hot bolt paste.
-- Attach the turbocharger support and tighten the bolts to the pre-tightening specification. Refer to .
- The turbocharger supports must not have any play at either of the turbochargers.
-- Tighten the nuts for the turbocharger to the previous and final tightening specifications. Refer to appropriate service information. .
-- Tighten the turbocharger support to the final tightening specification. Refer to appropriate service information. .
-- Install the wires. Refer to RELAY PANELS, FUSE PANELS AND E-BOXES or the Appropriate Systems Wiring Diagrams .
-- Install the plenum chamber bulkhead. Refer to BULKHEAD .
-- Install the right secondary air injection combination valve. Refer to COMBINATION VALVE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Install the charge air cooler housing. Refer to CHARGE AIR COOLER HOUSING, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
