Supercharger, Removing And Installing: Installing

Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:

NOTE:

Replace the seals and O-ring after removal.

Only remove the plugs or caps after installing the lines.

Secure all hose connections with hose clamps. Refer to the Parts information.

-- Install the noise insulation.

-- Make sure the crankcase ventilation connection -1- is installed correctly when installing the supercharger. Refer to appropriate service information .

-- Install the left front coolant pipes. Refer to FRONT LEFT COOLANT PIPES, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Electrical connections and wiring routing. Refer to the applicable Wiring Diagram.

-- Install the A/C compressor ribbed belt. Refer to RIBBED BELT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, SUPERCHARGER RIBBED BELT .

-- Check the coolant level and fill if necessary.

NOTE:

Do not reuse used coolant.

-- Open the coolant expansion tank cap.

-- Position the :VAG1274B with the :VAG1274/8 on the coolant expansion tank.

-- Generate approximately 0.5 bar (7.2 psi) pressure using the cooling system tester hand pump.

NOTE:

Place a cloth underneath to catch any leaking coolant.

-- Open the bleed screws -1- and -2- on the charge air coolers one after the other until coolant starts to come out.

It may be necessary to correct the pressure using the hand pump on the cooling system tester during the bleeding procedure.

-- Close the bleed screws.

-- Check the coolant level and fill if necessary.

The coolant level must be at that MAX marking when the engine is cold.
The coolant level may be above the MAX marking when the engine is at operating temperature.
