Turbocharger, Removing And Installing: Removing

Required Preliminary Work. Refer to TURBOCHARGER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING [CYNB ENGINES] and/or TURBOCHARGER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING [CLAB, CLAA, CDUC, CGQB, CKVB, CKVC, CDUD, CPNB, CTCB, CTCC, CVUA, CVUB ENGINES] .

-- Remove the nut -2- from below. (The nuts -1- will be removed later.)

-- Remove the bolt -1- and then remove the oil return line.

-- Remove the bolt -2-.

-- Seal the turbocharger with plugs from the :VAS6122  .

-- If installed, remove the engine cover. Refer to ENGINE COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove and disconnect the connector -1- for the Heated Oxygen Sensor -G39- -2- from the bracket.

Different installation positions depending on models and version.

Depending on the version either a bolt or a threaded connection with a connected hose and corresponding clip is installed.

-- Remove the bolt -arrow- and remove the crankcase ventilation hose from the turbocharger.

-- Disconnect the connector -2- on Charge Air Pressure Actuator -V465-.

-- Disconnect the connector -1- for the Turbocharger Recirculation Valve -N249-.

-- Remove the nuts -1- from above, and push the catalytic converter toward the rear.

-- Remove bolts -arrows- and then remove the heat shield.

-- Remove the bolt -1- and remove the coolant return line.

-- Remove the bolt -2- and the oil supply line.

-- Remove the nuts -arrows-.

-- Remove the turbocharger from the stud bolts in direction of -arrow-.

• The help of a second technician is necessary for the following step.

-- Have a second technician hold the turbocharger, remove the bolt -1-, remove the coolant supply line -2- and remove the turbocharger upward.
