Procedure: Step 3 - Installing the Spark Plugs

-- Install the new spark plugs using the :3122B and tighten to specification. Refer to 8-CYLINDER GASOLINE ENGINE 4.0L TFSI for the table.
-- Lubricate the ignition coils. Refer to IGNITION COILS, LUBRICATING .
-- Insert all ignition coils loosely into the spark plug shaft and align them to the connectors on the connector strip.
-- Press the ignition coils evenly onto the spark plugs by hand. Do not use any impact tools.
-- Install the ignition coil bolts -arrow- to the tightening specification (Tightening Specification Table for Installation 8-CYLINDER GASOLINE ENGINE 4.0L TFSI ).
-- Connect the ignition coil connectors one after the other until the locking mechanism engages.
Additional installation procedures occur in reverse order.
