Procedure: Step 3 - Installing the Spark Plugs

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 9 other vehicles, including the 2018 Audi S6, 2018 Audi A6 Quattro, 2018 Audi A6, 2017 Audi S6, and 2017 Audi A6 Quattro. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

-- Install the new spark plugs using the :3122B  and tighten to specification. Refer to 6-CYLINDER GASOLINE ENGINE 2.5L FSI / 2.8L FSI / 3.0L TFSI  for the table.

-- Lubricate the ignition coils. Refer to IGNITION COILS, LUBRICATING .

-- Insert all ignition coils loosely into the spark plug shaft and align them to the connectors on the connector strip.

-- Press the ignition coils evenly onto the spark plugs by hand. Do not use any impact tools.

-- Align the connector strip and connect all connectors at the same time on the ignition coils until the locking mechanism engages.

-- Insert the connectors onto the cam adjustment actuators until the locking mechanism engages.

-- Mount the connector strip by installing the bolts to the tightening specification. Refer to 6-CYLINDER GASOLINE ENGINE 2.5L FSI / 2.8L FSI / 3.0L TFSI  for the installation tightening specification table.

Additional installation procedures occur in reverse order.
