Fuel Pressure Sensor -G247-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING: Removing

CAUTION:

Danger of malfunction caused by debris.

  • Refer to appropriate service information.

-- Remove the engine cover. Refer to ENGINE COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Clean and dry off the threaded area around the fuel pressure sensor with engine or brake cleaner.

NOTE:

The Fuel Pressure Sensor -G247- measures the actual fuel pressure in the high pressure system and delivers a voltage signal to the Engine Control Module -J623-.

If the malfunctions, the pressure is controlled via an Engine Control Module (ECM) characteristic map (maximum engine speed is limited to emergency operation mode).

The Fuel Pressure Sensor -G247- does not have gasket. It has a biting edge and for this reason cannot be reused.

Clean carefully, cleaner must not enter the connector.

Dirt must not get into the high pressure reservoir opening.

-- Disconnect the connector from the Fuel Pressure Sensor -G247- -arrow-.

-- Remove the Fuel Pressure Sensor -G247- using the :T40218  .

NOTE:

Do not use an open-end wrench for opening or tightening.

-- Clean off dirt from fuel rail boring. Do not use mechanical tools.

Seal the hole in the fuel rail immediately with a suitable plug to prevent dirt from entering.
