Radiator, Removing And Installing: Removing
There is a risk of injury if the radiator fan turns on by itself.
- The coolant fan can come on even when the ignition is turned off, for example, caused by the heat still in the engine compartment.
-- Remove the front noise insulation. Refer to NOISE INSULATION .
-- Remove the impact member. Refer to IMPACT MEMBER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Place the :VAS6208 underneath.
-- Remove the drain plug -1- and drain the coolant.
-- Lift the clip -2- and disconnect the coolant hose from the radiator.
-- lift the clip -arrows-, drain the coolant and then remove the connection from the radiator.
-- Disconnect the coolant fan connectors -1 and 2- to do this, push the clamp to the rear in direction of -arrow- and push the release down.
-- Remove the bolts -arrows- and air guide -1-.
-- Remove the bolts -arrows- and the air guide -1- from the lock carrier.
Ignore item -2-.
-- Open the clamps -1 and 2- and from the top left of the radiator remove the connection.
-- Unclip the air guides -1 and 2- from the radiator.
Depending on the version a left air guide -2- can be installed, which encloses the refrigerant line -1-, as shown in the illustration.
This air guide cannot be removed. It remains in the installation position after unclipping the radiator.
-- Remove the bolt -1-.
Ignore the -arrows-.
-- Press the catch downward in direction of -arrow A- and move the charge air cooling circuit radiator in direction of -arrow B-.
-- Remove the cooling circuit radiator from the radiator and pivot to the left side with the coolant hoses connected while doing so carefully free up from the left air guide if required.
Ignore item -1-.
-- Disconnect the connector -2- from the A/C Pressure/Temperature Sensor -G395-.
There is a risk of damaging the condenser and refrigerant lines and hoses.
- Do not bend, twist or stretch the refrigerant lines and hoses.
-- Release the left and right clamp in direction of -arrow B-.
-- Remove the condenser -1- first at the right from the radiator in direction of -arrow A-.
-- Then guide out the condenser at the left while doing so pay attention to the refrigerant lines.
-- Pivot the condenser to the left side.
-- Release the left and right radiator retaining pins in direction of -arrow A- and remove by pulling upward in direction of -arrow B-.
-- Remove the left and right bolts -1- and remove the radiator console with the radiator from the lock carrier in direction of -arrow-.
-- Remove the radiator.
-- Press the fan shroud left and right locking tabs at the same time -arrow- and remove the fan shroud upward from the radiator.
