Fan Shroud, Removing And Installing: Removing

WARNING:

There is a risk of injury if the radiator fan turns on by itself.

  • The coolant fan can come on even when the ignition is turned off, for example, caused by the heat still in the engine compartment.

-- Remove the front noise insulation. Refer to OVERVIEW - IMPACT MEMBER .

-- Disconnect the coolant fan connectors -1 and 2- to do this, push the clamp to the rear in direction of -arrow- and push the release down.

-- Drain the coolant. Refer to COOLANT, DRAINING AND FILLING .

-- Remove the charge air cooling circuit radiator. Refer to CHARGE AIR COOLING CIRCUIT RADIATOR, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Open the clamp -arrow- and remove the connection from the radiator.

-- Open the clamp -2- and remove the connection from the radiator.

NOTE:

Ignore item -1-.

-- Remove the left and right bolts -1-.

-- Remove the reservoir coolant hose -arrow- from the front coolant pipe by lifting the retaining clamp.

-- Release the left and right radiator retaining pins with a screwdriver in direction of -arrow A- and remove by pulling upward -arrow B-.

-- Push the radiator forward slightly.

-- Press the left and right fan shroud locking tabs evenly in direction of -arrow- and disengage.

-- Remove the fan shroud downward.
