Rear Muffler
- Original equipment as one unit with rear mufflers. If a repair is required replace each separately
- Removing and installing. Refer to MUFFLER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
- Separating point. Refer to EXHAUST PIPES/MUFFLERS, SEPARATING .
- Align the exhaust system free of tension. Refer to EXHAUST SYSTEM, INSTALLING WITHOUT TENSION .
Suspended Mount
- Always replace if damaged.
- Check pretension. Refer to EXHAUST SYSTEM, INSTALLING WITHOUT TENSION .
Bolt
- 20 Nm
Center Muffler
- Original equipment one unit with the center muffler. If a repair is required replace each separately
- Removing and installing. Refer to MUFFLER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
- Separating point. Refer to EXHAUST PIPES/MUFFLERS, SEPARATING .
- Align the exhaust system free of tension. Refer to EXHAUST SYSTEM, INSTALLING WITHOUT TENSION .
Nut
- 23 Nm
- Always replace
- Coat the threads with hot bolt paste; for the correct hot bolt paste refer to the parts information.
Seal
- Always replace
Catalytic Converter
- Protect from shocks and impact stress
- Removing and installing. Refer to CATALYTIC CONVERTER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
- Individual components of suspension. Refer to the appropriate service information.SUSPENSION SYSTEM (FRONT - SERVICE INFORMATION) and/or SUSPENSION SYSTEM (REAR - SERVICE INFORMATION)
Seal
- Always replace
Nut
- 23 Nm
- Always replace
- Coat the threads with hot bolt paste; for the correct hot bolt paste refer to the parts information.
Front Muffler
- With decoupling element, decoupling element must not be bent more than 10° - otherwise it may be damaged
- Removing and installing. Refer to FRONT MUFFLER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
- Align the exhaust system free of tension. Refer to EXHAUST SYSTEM, INSTALLING WITHOUT TENSION .
Front Clamping Sleeve
- Installed position. Refer to the appropriate service information, PROCEDURE .
- Pushed all the way onto the front muffler
- Before tightening, align exhaust system free of tension. Refer to EXHAUST SYSTEM, INSTALLING WITHOUT TENSION .
- Tighten threaded connections evenly.
Nut
- 23 Nm
Trim Panel
- For tail pipe
- Only Audi S6/S7
- Push all the way onto the tail pipes
Suspended Mount
- Always replace if damaged.
- Check pretension. Refer to EXHAUST SYSTEM, INSTALLING WITHOUT TENSION .
Bolt
- 23 Nm
Rear Clamping Sleeve
- For individual replacement of center and rear mufflers
- Installed position. Refer to the appropriate service information, EXHAUST SYSTEM, INSTALLING WITHOUT TENSION .
- Before tightening, align exhaust system free of tension. Refer to EXHAUST SYSTEM, INSTALLING WITHOUT TENSION .
- Tighten threaded connections evenly.

- 23 Nm
Bolt
- 23 Nm
Suspended Mount
- Always replace if damaged.
