Automatic Transmission Fluid (ATF), Draining And Filling: Draining

NOTE:

The transmission should be at operating temperature to properly drain the ATF. Do not start the engine when there is either very little or no ATF in the transmission.

-- Remove the rear noise insulation -2-. Refer to NOISE INSULATION .

-- Place the :SMN372500  under the transmission.

WARNING:

Danger of eye injury.

  • Wear protective eyewear.

-- Remove the ATF drain plug -arrow B- and drain the ATF.

NOTE:

Follow the disposal requirements.

Replace the ATF drain plug and seal.

Replace the plug for the ATF check and fill hole.

-- Tighten the new drain plug -arrow B-.

CAUTION:

Danger of causing damage to the transmission.

  • Only use the Automatic Transmission Fluid (ATF) available as a replacement part for the automatic transmission 0BL.
  • Allocation: Refer to parts information.
  • Using other fluids can cause malfunctions or transmission failure.
  • The ATF filler adapter must be clean. Do not mix the ATF with any other ATF types.
  • Engine must not be started if only a small amount or no ATF is in the transmission after repair work or after significant ATF loss.
