Automatic Transmission Fluid (ATF) Level, Checking: Procedure: Notes

Test Conditions

The transmission must not be in the emergency running
Move the vehicle onto a 4-column shop hoist or over a work pit so it is completely level.
Transmission in "P".
The parking brake button should be activated to close the electro-mechanical parking brake.
Exhaust hose/-hoses of an exhaust extraction system connected.
The A/C and the heater are off.
Vehicle Diagnostic Tester is connected.
At the beginning of the test the Automatic Transmission Fluid (ATF) temperature should not be higher than 30 °C - 35 °C (86 °F - 95 °F), because the Automatic Transmission Fluid (ATF) temperature quickly raises, and a correct oil level is be determines at a temperature of 35 °C to 45 °C (95 °F - 113 °F) (hot climate countries maximum 50 °C (122 °F)).

CAUTION:

Danger of causing damage to the transmission.

Use only the ATF made for the 0BK automatic transmission, which is available as a replacement part. Allocation. Refer to the parts information.
Using other fluids can cause malfunctions or transmission failure.
The ATF filler adapter must be clean. Do not mix the ATF with any other ATF types.
Engine must not be started if only a small amount or no ATF is in the transmission after repair work or after significant ATF loss.
