Vibration Damper, Removing And Installing, Vehicles With Torque Support: Removing
-- Remove the engine cover. Refer to ENGINE COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Remove the front noise insulation. Refer to NOISE INSULATION .
-- Loosen the left and right nuts -arrows- on the crossbrace. Leave the crossbrace -1- in its installation position.
-- Remove bolts -arrow-, Press stop -1- for the torque support towards the engine.
-- Remove the ribbed belt. Refer to RIBBED BELT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Disconnect the connector -1-.
-- Disconnect the connector -2-, and set the wiring harness off to the side.
Ignore item -3-.
-- Remove the lock carrier cover. Refer to ATTACHMENTS, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Remove the bolts -arrows- and air guide -1-.
-- Remove the bolts -arrows- and the air guide -2-.
Ignore item -1-.
-- Remove the bolts -arrows- for the coolant pump ribbed belt pulley using a :3212 to counterhold.
-- Remove the bolts and remove the ribbed belt pulley.
-- Remove the left and right foam block -arrow-.
-- Position the :10-222A on the upper edges of the left and right web plate as illustrated.
Danger of causing damage to the turbocharger assembly on BiTurbo Engines.
- The spindles on the engine support bridge should only be attached to the engine lifting eyes and never engaged in the turbocharger assembly lifting eyes.
-- Engage the :10-222A/11 in the left and right engine lifting eyes.
-- Lift the engine left and right with the spindle -1- to dimension -a-.
- Dimension -a- = approximately 10 mm.
-- Remove the bolts -1- and then remove the shim -2- and the vibration damper -3-.
