Safety precautions

To prevent injuries to persons and/or damage to the fuel injection and ignition system, the following must be noted:

Do not touch or disconnect ignition wiring when the engine is running or at starter speed.
Always switch off the ignition before connecting or disconnecting ignition system wiring. This also applies to HT cables and measuring instrument leads.
To run engine at starting speed without actually starting it (for example, in order to test compression), remove connector from the power output stage of the ignition coils and also the connectors on the injectors.
In the case of some tests, a malfunction may be recognized and stored by the control module. At the end of all tests and repairs, therefore, the DTC memory should be checked and, if necessary, erased. After erasing the DTC memory, generate a readiness code.

Always switch off the ignition before washing the engine.
