Remove rear seat bench →
- 72 - SEAT - FRAMES
- 72 - SEAT - FRAMES for BODY INTERIOR - CABRIOLET

Unbolt cover for left locking flange - arrows -.

Disconnect electrical harness connector - arrow - at left locking flange.

Connect hand multimeter V.A.G 1526 C between terminal - 2 - and - 3 - for resistance measurement.

Sensor installed	Sensor at lower stop	Sensor at upper stop
Fuel Level Sensor 2 G169	275 to 296 Ω	47 to 65 Ω

NOTE:

If measured value is 0 Ω there is a short circuit. If measured value is ∞ Ω there is and open circuit in the wiring.
To check resistance values "tank full" or "tank empty" , the Fuel Level Sensor 2 G169 must be removed → Fuel Level Sensor 2 G169 , removing and installing and the sensor floater must be placed in upper or lower end position.
With Fuel Level Sensor 2 G169 removed, the following values are obtained because of the greater deflection of the floater arm:

Fuel Level Sensor 2 G169	295 to 305 Ω	45.5 to 48.1 Ω
