Electric Drive Motor, Removing And Installing: Removing
As the Electro-Drive Drive Motor -V141- is a component of the transmission, the transmission must first be removed.
De-Energizing High Voltage System
Follow the High Voltage System General Warnings, refer to HIGH VOLTAGE SYSTEM GENERAL WARNINGS .
Turning off the voltage in the high voltage system is carried out exclusively via the Guided Fault Finding on the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester.
Extremely dangerous high voltage
Electrocution can cause death or very serious personal injury.
- The high voltage system may only be turned off by a qualified person (Audi high voltage technician).
- It must be certain that the voltage for the high voltage system is turned off. The voltage is guaranteed to be off exclusively with the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester via the "Guided fault finding" .
- The qualified technician (Audi high voltage technician) will make sure the voltage is turned off and that the system cannot turn back on again using a Service Disconnect Lock T40262. The qualified technician should make sure the system cannot turn on again by keeping the key and the High Voltage System Maintenance Connector -TW- in a safe place.
- The qualified personnel (Audi high voltage technicians) mark the vehicle with a label.
De-energizing the high voltage system:
Connect the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester
Select the Guided Fault Finding mode
Using the Go To button, move through the following menu points

-- Remove the transmission, refer to TRANSMISSION, REMOVING .
-- Secure the transmission on the Engine And Transmission Holder VAS6095, refer to SECURING ON ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION HOLDER .
-- Remove the left flange shaft, refer to LEFT FLANGE SHAFT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Remove the bolt -2- and remove the connection box housing -1- for the high voltage lines from the transmission.
-- Remove the bolt -2- and remove the connection for the coolant lines -1- from the transmission housing.
-- Uncover the high volt connection -1- and the radiator connection -2- on the Electro-Drive Drive Motor -V141- and cap.
To improve the image, the illustration shows the Electro-Drive Drive Motor -V141- removed. Apply the transmission connection cap -3- first to the removed Electro-Drive Drive Motor -V141-.
-- Turn the transmission so that the Electro-Drive Drive Motor -V141- is facing vertically upward.
Prepare Transport and Lifting Device:
-- Assemble the Lifting Eyebolt VAS3368 with Slide Hammer Set VW771 with adapter 40 and M8 washer -1-.
- Maximum depth: Dimension X = 8 mm
Risk of damaging the damper module in the Electro-Drive Drive Motor -V141- !
If the Lifting Eyebolt VAS3368 with Slide Hammer Set VW771 and adapter 40 is screwed in deeper than 8 mm, the damper module in the Electro-Drive Drive Motor -V141- will be damaged.
If the damper module in the Electro-Drive Drive Motor -V141- is damaged, than the Electro-Drive Drive Motor -V141- must be replaced.
-- Attach the Lifting Eyebolt VAS3368 with the Slide Hammer Set VW771 with adapter 40 and M8 washer -1- above in the Electro-Drive Drive Motor -V141-.
-- Remove the bolt -3- on the Drive Motor Rotor Position Sensor 1 -G713-.
-- Remove the bolts -2- on the Electro-Drive Drive Motor -V141- -1-.
-- Carefully remove the Electro-Drive Drive Motor -V141- vertically out of the transmission using the Shop Crane VAS6100.
Risk of damaging the Electro-Drive Drive Motor -V141- !
- The Drive Motor Rotor Position Sensor 1 -G713- and the high volt connection and cap -1- must not hit the transmission housing when removing.
-- Make sure that no cold water drips into the opening for the input shaft, cover the opening if necessary.
-- Make sure that all of the caps are installed.
- High volt connection cap
- Radiator connection caps
- Transmission connection cap
-- Carefully set down the Electro-Drive Drive Motor -V141-.
