Full Or Partially Full Fuel Tanks, Safety Precautions When Removing And Installing
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2016 Audi Q5, 2015 Audi Q5, and 2014 Audi Q5. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
Note the Following When Removing and Installing Fuel Tank Components Which are Completely or Partially Filled:
- The fuel tank may only be partially full. How much fuel can remain in the fuel tank may be read in the respective work description. Drain the fuel tank, if necessary, refer to FUEL TANK, DRAINING .
- Before starting work, switch the exhaust extraction system on and place an extraction hose close to the fuel tank installation opening to extract fuel fumes. If no exhaust extraction system is available, a radial fan (as long as motor is not in air flow) with a displacement greater than 15 m3 /h can be used.
- Do not let fuel come in contact with bare skin. Wear fuel-resistant gloves.
