Power Take-Off Drive Chain, Removing And Installing: Installing
- Tightening specifications, refer to OVERVIEW - BALANCE SHAFT AND OIL PUMP DRIVE CHAIN .
- Crankshaft -1- secured in "TDC" using Crankshaft Locking Pin T40069.
Replace the O-ring for the "TDC" marking locking bolt.
-- Install the chain tensioner with the drive chain and the balance shaft chain sprocket.
-- To protect against cuts, wrap the point and the cutting edges on an 8 mm diameter drill bit with insulating tape.
-- Secure the balance shaft in the "TDC" position using an 8 mm diameter drill bit -2-.
- The slots in the balance shaft chain sprocket must be centered with the threaded holes in the balance shaft. Offset the chain by one tooth, if necessary.
-- Tighten the chain tensioner bolts.
-- Loosely install the chain sprocket bolts -1 and 3-.
- It must still be possible to rotate the chain sprocket on the balance shaft and it must not tip.
-- Remove the Locking Pin T40071 to release the chain tensioner.
-- Press against the chain tensioner guide rail -arrow- using a screwdriver while tightening the chain sprocket bolts -1 and 3-.
-- Remove the drill bit -2- from the balance shaft.
Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:
-- Install the "TDC" marking locking bolt, refer to Fig 3.
-- Install the lower timing chain cover, refer to LOWER TIMING CHAIN COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
