Rear Window Wiper Blades, Checking

Procedures for which the ignition needs to be switched on. Refer to PROCEDURES FOR WHICH THE IGNITION NEEDS TO BE SWITCHED ON .

Check for Damage

-- Activate the windshield washer system to check to see if the wiping pattern is clean.

Check for abnormalities with the wiper blade:

-- Check the wiper blade for tears and damage.

Check Park Position

-- Switch on the ignition.

-- Activate the "Rear wiper" and let the wiper arm to run to end position.

-- Turn off ignition.

-- Check whether blade point rests in with the following distance to lower edge of window.

NOTE:

Dimension gives distance of wiper blade point to lower edge of window.

-- Activate rear window wiper.

-- Check the wiper arm adjustment again.

-- If necessary: Adjust the wiper arm. Refer to WINDSHIELD WIPER ARMS, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
