Power Steering, Checking For Leaks And Fluid Level

Warning information for the high voltage system:

Procedures for which the ignition needs to be switched off. Refer to PROCEDURES FOR WHICH THE IGNITION NEEDS TO BE SWITCHED OFF .

-- Remove cover.

-- Clean the dipstick with clean cloth.

-- Install the cap hand-tight and then remove it again.

NOTE:

The fluid level is correct only when the cap is on.

-- Check the fluid level while observing the following guidelines:

NOTE:

If fluid level is above specified range, then some fluid must be siphoned off.

CAUTION:

If the fluid level is below the specified level, check the power steering system for leaks (repair measure). It is not sufficient just to add fluid.

-- If the power steering system is sealed: fill with power steering fluid. .

-- Screw in cap hand tight.
