Engine And Engine Compartment From Below, Sealing Boots, Checking For Leaks And Damage

WARNING:

Correct any malfunctions (repair procedure).

-- Check engine and components in engine compartment for leaks and damage.

-- Check the lines, hoses and connections for the following components for leaks, chafing, porosity and cracks.

-- Check transmission and steering for leaks and damage.

NOTE:

When inspecting every 40, 000 miles (60, 000 km) without additional scope : Depending on the procedure when changing the engine oil, removing the noise insulation on the underbody is not necessary.

If necessary, remove the quick-release connectors on the noise insulation at the corresponding position so that it is possible to use a flashlight to perform a visual inspection. Carefully lift noise insulation. Danger of breaking.
