Brake Pads, Thickness, Checking
Warning information for the high voltage system:
Procedures for which the ignition needs to be switched off. Refer to PROCEDURES FOR WHICH THE IGNITION NEEDS TO BE SWITCHED OFF .
If the pad thickness has reached the wear limit, replace the pads. Repair action: inform the customer.
Special tools and workshop equipment required
- Test Pin T40139
Use the side with the thin test mandrel (brake symbol) to measure the brake pad thickness.
It is required to remove the wheels for specific tire combinations.
Procedure:
-- Slide the sliding ring all the way in the direction of the measuring point.
-- Slide the test pin evenly in the direction of the brake pad until the test pin touches the brake pad backing plate.
-- Carefully remove the test pin and read the value on the scale.
Make sure the sliding ring does not move, otherwise the measurement will be incorrect.
