Right Seal, Replacing

Used Oil Collection and Extraction Unit VAG1782
Puller - Seal LeverVW681
Seal Installer - Flange Seal T40189

Procedure

NOTE:

Clean working conditions for the automatic transmission, refer to CLEAN WORKING CONDITIONS, GUIDELINES .

General repair instructions, refer to GENERAL REPAIR INFORMATION .

-- Place the Used Oil Collection and Extraction Unit SMN372500 under the transmission.

-- Remove the right flange shaft, refer to RIGHT FLANGE SHAFT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the right flange shaft seal.

-- Coat the outer circumference of the new shaft seal with axle oil.

Installed position: The open side of the shaft seal faces the transmission.

-- Push in the new shaft seal until it stops. When doing this, do not bend the shaft seal or install it on an angle.

-- Install the right flange shaft, refer to RIGHT FLANGE SHAFT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Add axle oil to the transmission after repair, refer to GEAR OIL, DRAINING AND FILLING .
