Fuel Supply Line To Metering Pump, Bleeding, Vehicles With Parking Heater

NOTE:

After working on the fuel delivery unit, bleed the fuel supply line for the metering pump on vehicles with a parking heater.

Special tools and workshop equipment required

Suction Pump VAS5226
Hand Vacuum Pump VAS6213

Procedure

Parking heater switched off.

-- Remove the right center underbody panel, refer to OVERVIEW - UNDERBODY PANELS .

-- Remove the bolts -1 and 3-, nuts -4- and bracket -2-.

NOTE:

Ignore -2 and 3- and -arrow-.

-- Press the release and disconnect the fuel line -1- to the auxiliary heater metering pump.

-- Connect the Suction Pump VAS5226 to the compressed air.

-- Remove the fuel supply line -2- from the fuel tank at the metering pump -1-.

-- Connect the Suction Pump VAS5226 with the adapter from the Hand Vacuum Pump VAS6213 to the fuel supply line and bleed it by extracting briefly.

-- Install the fuel supply line to the metering pump.

-- Switch the parking heater on and let it run approximately 10 minutes at full throttle.

-- Install the bracket, refer to Figure.

-- Install the right center underbody panel, refer to OVERVIEW - UNDERBODY PANELS .
