Overview - Fuel Delivery Unit/Fuel Level Sensor, 4-Cylinder And 6-Cylinder Generation II Engines

- Fuel Delivery Unit
- Transfer Fuel Pump -G6-, electrical testing with Guided Fault Finding see Vehicle Diagnostic Tester
- Fuel Delivery Quantity and Fuel Pressure, Checking, refer to Transfer Fuel Pump -G6-, CHECKING .
- Removing and installing, refer to FUEL DELIVERY UNIT/FUEL LEVEL SENSOR, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
- Fill the fuel tank with at least 5 liters (1.32 gallons) of fuel after installing
- Seal
- Replace
- Install dry
- Locking Ring
- Tighten to 120 Nm
- Remove and install with the Wrench - Fuel Sending Unit T10202
- Fuel Return Line
- From engine
- Do not kink
- Press the release button to remove from the sealing flange
- Note direction of arrow (fuel supply or return) on locking flange when installing
- Clipped to the fuel tank
- Fuel Line
- To the metering pump on vehicles with an auxiliary heater
- Do not kink
- Press the release button to remove from the sealing flange
- Clipped to the fuel tank
- Connector
- For Transfer Fuel Pump -G6-
- Connector
- For Fuel Level Sensor -G-
- Connector
- For the Fuel Pump Control Module -J538-
- Bolt
- 2.5 Nm
- Fuel Pump Control Module -J538-
- Checking see Vehicle Diagnostic Tester Guided Fault Finding
- Removing and installing, refer to Fuel Pump Control Module -J538-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
- Fuel Supply Line
- To fuel filter
- Do not kink
- Press the release button to remove from the sealing flange
- Note direction of arrow (fuel supply or return) on locking flange when installing
- Clipped to the fuel tank
- Fuel Level Sensor -G-
- For checking the resistance values, refer to Fuel Level Sensor -G-, CHECKING .
- Removing and installing, refer to Fuel Level Sensor -G-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Route the ground connection -1- as shown in the illustration.
-- Make sure the following connectors are secure:
- Ground connection connector -arrows- on the fuel pressure regulator and sealing flange.
- Connector -2- for Fuel Level Sensor -G- on the sealing flange.
- Connector -3- for Transfer Fuel Pump -G6- on the sealing flange.
-- Pull on the connector to make sure it is locked secure.
