Overview - Front Brakes (1LV, 1ZK, And Sq5): Notes
- Brake Rotor
- Allocate correct components.
- Wear limit, refer to FRONT BRAKES .
- Always replace on both axles.
- Remove brake carrier before removing
- Clean and lubricate contact surfaces between brake rotor and wheel hub.
- Refer to BRAKE ROTOR, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, BRAKE 1LV AND 1ZK, SQ5
- Refer to BRAKE ROTOR, REPLACING, BRAKE 1LV AND 1ZK, SQ5
- Bleed Screw
- 10 Nm
- Refer to HYDRAULIC SYSTEM, BLEEDING .
- Cap
- Connector, Brake Pad Wear Display Wire
- Brake Pad Wear Display WireNOTE:
Make sure the contact for the brake pad wear display fits correctly in the spring inside the inner brake pad.
- Wire for the Brake Pad Wear Display in the Brake PadNOTE:
Make sure the contact for the brake pad wear display fits correctly in the spring inside the inner brake pad.
- Brake Caliper
- Do not loosen any screws on the brake caliper.
- Refer to BRAKE CALIPER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, BRAKE 1LV AND 1ZK, SQ5
- Refer to BRAKE CALIPER, REPLACING, BRAKE 1LV AND 1ZK, SQ5
- Servicing, refer to FRONT BRAKE CALIPER
.NOTE:
Depending on the model there are two dampers installed in each front brake caliper, refer to BRAKE CALIPER BALANCE WEIGHT .

- TrimNOTE:
Make sure the cover and balance spring are installed correctly.
The tips of the balance spring fit into the brake caliper.
The tip of the balance spring fits under the cover.
- Balance SpringNOTE:
Make sure the cover and balance spring are installed correctly.

- Brake PadsNOTE:
The inner pad is equipped with a cable for the wear indicator.
- Check the brake pad thickness, refer to TECHNICAL DATA FOR BRAKES .
- Wear limit, refer to TECHNICAL DATA FOR BRAKES .
- Remove any film on the back of the pad before installing.
- Before installing the brake pads, clean the pad guide surface and coat it with a film of grease.
- Always replace on both axles.
- Refer to BRAKE PADS, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, BRAKE 1LV AND 1ZK, SQ5 NOTE:
Before installing new brake pads, thoroughly clean the brake calipers of contaminants (grease-free). When doing so, pay particular attention to removing any remaining adhesive foil on outer brake pad contact surfaces.
Make sure the contact for the brake pad wear display fits correctly in the spring inside the inner brake pad.

- Bolts
- 196 Nm
- Always replace if removed

- Guide Pin Seal

- 55 Nm
- Seal with a capNOTE:
Use Socket - Xzn 9T50036.
- Cap
- Brake Hose
- Install in the brake caliper housing
- Hose must be installed free of twists
- Make sure that lugs are properly seated in grooves in bracket.
- Brake line connection to brake hose 14 Nm
- Brake line connection to brake caliper 20 Nm
Make sure the brake hose is routed correctly. Make sure the brake hose is not blocked, bent or rubbing against the vehicle.
