Special tools and workshop equipment required

The procedure for doing the adaptation is described in "Guide Fault Finding". The procedure is also described under "Guided Functions". Use a Vehicle Diagnostic Tester.

After replacing an injector, the adaptation value must be programmed into the engine control.

-- Check all the other fuel injectors as well regarding their "injector quantity calibration" and "injection pressure calibration" to see if the adaptation values were entered correctly. If the correct adjustment values have been stored in the Engine Control Module (ECM), then these comparison value must never be re-entered.

-- The "injector quantity calibration values" and the "injection pressure calibration" must be downloaded into the new ECM if the ECM is being replaced.
