Overview - Selector Mechanism

There is a risk of injury and accident from accidentally engaging a gear when the engine is running.

  • Before working on a running engine, move the selector lever to "P" and push the parking brake button in order to lock the electro-mechanical parking brake.

Before disassembling the selector mechanism, perform check, refer to SELECTOR MECHANISM, CHECKING .

  1. Selector Lever Handle
  2. Trim Ring
  3. Selector Lever Boot
  4. Clamp
  5. Selector Lever Transmission Range Position Display Unit -Y26-
  6. Nut
    • 10 Nm
    • Quantity: 4
    • For securing the shift mechanism to the body
  7. Seal
  8. Selector Lever Sensor System Control Module -J587- with Tiptronic Switch -F189-
  9. Selector Mechanism Function Unit
  10. Shift Lock Solenoid -N110-
  11. Transmission Park Selector Switch -F305-
  12. Noise Insulation
    • Not on all vehicles .
  13. Lock Washers
    • For securing the noise insulation to the shift mechanism function unit
    • Quantity: 4
    • Replacing
  14. Circlip
    • Secure the selector lever cable to the selector mechanism function unit
  15. O-Ring
    • Replacing
  16. Selector Lever Cable
  17. Cap
    • via the Shift Lock Solenoid -N110-
