Refrigerant Temperature Sensor -G454-

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 13 other vehicles, including the 2017 Audi SQ5, 2017 Audi Q5, 2016 Audi SQ5, 2016 Audi Q5, and 2015 Audi SQ5. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

NOTE:

Switch pressures, removing and installing switches as well as switch arrangement and version. Refer to vehicle specific refrigerant circuit - OVERVIEW - REFRIGERANT CIRCUIT (vehicle-specific repair information).

The refrigerant temperature sensor (with temperature-dependent resistance) is installed, for example, in the high pressure line in vicinity of the A/C compressor.

In the refrigerant circuit, there is a direct correlation between temperature and pressure. Should there be too little refrigerant in the refrigerant circuit, the temperature in the refrigerant circuit rises more strongly than intended for this pressure when A/C system is operating.

NOTE:

Installed for example on the Audi Q7 with specific engines. (vehicle-specific repair information) and refer to appropriate SYSTEM WIRING DIAGRAM.

The Climatronic Control Module -J255- evaluates pressure and temperature in the refrigerant circuit and switches off the compressor in the event the temperature increases above the value stored for this pressure. Refer to OVERVIEW - REFRIGERANT CIRCUIT (vehicle-specific repair information) and Vehicle Diagnostic Tester ("OBD" or "Guided Fault Finding  " for the "A/C system").
