Oil Pan Lower Section, Removing And Installing: Removing
-- Remove the noise insulation. Refer to OVERVIEW - NOISE INSULATION .
-- Remove the subframe crossbrace -4-. Refer to SUBFRAME CROSSBRACE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Remove the stabilizer bar -1-. Refer to STABILIZER BAR, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Remove the bolts -2- and the nuts -3-.
-- Move the steering gear -5- slightly to the right, lower it approximately 10 cm (3.93 in.) and then tie it up.
Risk of damaging the oil lines and hoses.
- Do not stretch, kink or bend oil lines and hoses.
The suspension components could be damaged.
Never rest the vehicle on its wheels if the subframe mount, steering gear or subframe crossbrace are not installed correctly.
Do not support the vehicle on the subframe or the subframe crossbrace, for example, by a floor jack or similar device.
-- Remove the bolt -arrow-.
-- Remove the steering column -1- from the steering gear -2-.
-- Place the Used Oil Collection and Extraction Unit SMN372500 under the engine and drain the engine oil.
Observe disposal regulations!
-- Disconnect the connector from the Oil Level Thermal Sensor -G266- -arrow-.
-- Remove the Oil Level Thermal Sensor -G266-.
-- Remove the bolts -1 through 19-.
-- Remove oil pan, if necessary loosen by applying light strikes with a rubber hammer.
