Front Side Airbag With Igniter, Removing And Installing: Removing

-- Remove the front seat:

Standard seat and Sport seat (manual). Refer to FRONT SEAT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, MANUAL .
Standard and Sport Power Seat, Comfort Seat and Super Sport Seat. Refer to FRONT SEAT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, POWER .

-- Attach the front seat to the Engine/Transmission Holder - Seat Repair Fixture VAS6136. Refer to FRONT SEAT, MOUNTING ON FIXTURE FOR SEAT REPAIR .

-- Remove backrest panel:

Two section backrest cover. Refer to BACKREST COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, TWO PIECE .
One section backrest cover. Refer to BACKREST COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, ONE PIECE .

-- Remove the front backrest. Refer to FRONT BACKREST, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, STANDARD SEAT/SPORT SEAT/SUPER SPORT SEAT .

-- Remove the cushion from the backrest until the side airbag bolt -7- is accessible (refer to BACKREST COVER AND PADDING, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, STANDARD/SPORT SEAT ); to do this carefully pull off the seat cover -2- and the cushion -3- in the area around the side airbag.

-- Remove the bolt -7-.

Vehicles equipped with a Manual Adjustable Seat:

-- Release the side airbag -6- and hook -5- from the backrest frame -4- and remove the airbag from the pocket sewn into the cover -1- downward while guiding the side air bag wiring harness.

Versions with Power Seats:

-- Release the side airbag -6- and the hook -5- from the backrest frame -4- and leave it in the pocket sewn into the cover -1-.

-- Remove the seat cover and cushion from the backrest and then remove the side airbag. Refer to BACKREST COVER AND PADDING, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, STANDARD/SPORT SEAT .
